Quantum stochastic resonance in the strong-field limit
Numerical path integral calculations are performed to study the behavior of a dissipative two-level system driven by a strong monochromatic oscillatory field. It is shown that the population of an initially localized state displays persistent high-frequency oscillations at weak dissipation and low temperature. The oscillation amplitudes exhibit intricate patterns as the field parameters are var...
متن کاملThe Analogy Between Statistical Equivalence and Stochastic Strong Limit
A classical limit theorem of stochastic process theory concerns the sample cumulative distribution function (CDF) from independent random variables. If the variables are uniformly distributed then these centered CDFs converge in a suitable sense to the sample paths of a Brownian Bridge. The so-called Hungarian construction of Komlos, Major and Tusnady provides a strong form of this result. In t...
متن کاملFractional diffusion limit for a stochastic kinetic equation
We study the stochastic fractional diffusive limit of a kinetic equation involving a small parameter and perturbed by a smooth random term. Generalizing the method of perturbed test functions, under an appropriate scaling for the small parameter, and with the moment method used in the deterministic case, we show the convergence in law to a stochastic fluid limit involving a fractional Laplacian.
متن کاملQuantum stochastic equation for the low density limit
Abstract A new derivation of quantum stochastic differential equation for the evolution operator in the low density limit is presented. We use the distribution approach and derive a new algebra for quadratic master fields in the low density limit by using the energy representation. We formulate the stochastic golden rule in the low density limit case for a system coupling with Bose field via qu...
متن کامل(Semi)Classical Limit of the Hartree Equation with Harmonic Potential
Nonlinear Schrödinger Equations (NLS) of the Hartree type occur in the modeling of quantum semiconductor devices. Their ”semiclassical” limit of vanishing (scaled) Planck constant is both a mathematical challenge and practically relevant when coupling quantum models to classical models. With the aim of describing the semi-classical limit of the 3D Schrödinger–Poisson system with an additional h...
